I’m using OpenAI Whisper (locally, without access to cloud) to transcribe 3h of French audio recording into text.
I’m actually really impressed. It’s not fast but it’s doing the job.
I had to amplify the audio signal +3db to increase the amplitude but other than that it’s amazing.
Very precise.

The whole point of the #fediverse is to enable “mutual coexistence” on top of a protocol that everyone can build with. We don’t need to agree on everything & we won’t but we can speak & understand each other on the same layer. It’s beautiful ❤️

It’s almost funny to watch the X drama enfold on Twitter and being able to talk about it from the open web, where a delusional “genius” isn’t able to dictate the rules, much less destroy 16 years of the web.
