  • But nothing brought home the need for a Twitter alternative like last night’s disastrous launch of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ presidential campaign. It was a mashup of everything wrong with Twitter: It featured “free speech absolutist” Musk cavorting with a literal fascist book burner, and the whole announcement went down in flames because of technical difficulties.

  • AI experts, journalists, policymakers, and the public are increasingly discussing a broad spectrum of important and urgent risks from AI. Even so, it can be difficult to voice concerns about some of advanced AI’s most severe risks. The succinct statement below aims to overcome this obstacle and open up discussion.

• Nice summup of the current moderation debate/situation across platforms.

    People make communities, not protocols.

Spoutible stance on moderation and racism As a responsible platform, we are committed to providing a safe and inclusive environment for all our users. Unfortunately, yesterday we witnessed a disturbing trend of racist behavior on our platform. Continue reading →

I’m trying to understand…. why should I have to select my default blog when I want to publish? The selector (in the official android app) is always positioned on my test blog which I mostly never use or only to test theme changes… so if I’m distracted I might publish to my test blog..it’s.. Annoying… No issue when using the browser. Is this related to a misconfig on my side? @manton. Continue reading →
