It’s interesting how one can subscribe to shared mute list at #bluesky, it does not block the users (yet?) but at least you can avoid their content, the result is that in a sequence of replies you can see “muted by X or Y list” that you have subscribed to.

  • How to use the bluesky invite code finder ?

    May 23, 2023 2:28pm

All I can say is that, this bluesky-invite-code-finder works ! #bluesky but before using it, apply the pull request to support the new invite format code. Add your twitter bearer token (you need to create a twitter app) Add desired bsky username, make sure it’s available Add your email For some reason I could not, at first, login with the password I had set in the main.js file, so I went to reset my password, got sent an email from bluesky, changed to a new password and voilà ! Why on Earth is #Twitter restoring three-year-old information? And what does it say about the ability of the platform’s users to control their own data? Nothing good, obviously.

  • Generation X / Millennial Overlap, in between worlds

    May 21, 2023 11:50pm

I was born on October 29, 1980, which technically places me in Generation X, which spans those born from 1965 to 1980. So, while technically I would fall into Generation X, I may identify more with Millennial characteristics, given I’m on the very edge of these generational divisions. This is all very subjective of course but often, I do feel in between two periods while not belonging to any of them for all kinds of reasons. Continue reading →

  • Book extract: Cultish, the language of fanaticism by Amanda Montell

    May 21, 2023 12:51pm

I keep coming back to this book because, it’s literally a gem everyone should read and I think parents should give it to their teenagers and friends to their friends in any obvious spiritual quest of their own. This book is like a detoxification manual for the internet age and the era of shared delusions amplified by influencers and gurus 2.0 It’s a must read to, actually stay grounded, and navigate what’s inevitably around us with a working BS detector.
